Continental Ballet performance of "Coppelia"

The Elk River Area Arts Alliance announces a return engagement of The Continental Ballet Company on Sunday, October 12 at 3:00 pm. Continental Ballet is touring a production of "Coppelia" with a professional cast that includes Tatiana Berenova and Pavel Homko, two exquisite Russian-trained dancers. The Company is celebrating its 20th anniversary and has a history of high-quality ballet productions.

"Coppelia" is described as a light-hearted, comical ballet that focuses on the story of two young lovers (Swanhilda and Franz) and a magical doll-maker, Dr. Coppelius. It is often referred to as the ballet about dolls. The ballet mixes razor-sharp story-mime with bravura classical dance. "Coppelia" was developed in 1870 and is set to the beautiful music by Leo Delibes.

The performance will be at the Zabee Theater at 900 School Street in Elk River. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for ERAAA members and seniors 65+, and $6 for students up to age 18.
